Mock Interviews

As part of this unit, we had to partake in mock interviews. However, rather than actual mock interviews we had to present an original TV show idea to the apprenticeships manager, David Longworth. During these presentations we had to showcase our ideas, mention the budget, time frame, and what channel it would be shown on. Whilst we did not properly do mock interviews, I felt as though it would be useful to research potential questions and how to answer them so that I was prepared for any university or job interviews, despite already having a job.

A while ago I was given a bank of interview questions so that I could look over them and research how to answer them, and using this I made my own word document of potential interview questions that I had seen, and that I had also been asked in previous interviews.

Interview Question Bank

I combed through this interview question bank and chose which ones I thought would most likely be asked in a job interview.

Using these tips I was able to pass one of my job interviews and successfully get a job. Some of these interview questions could also be asked in university interviews so this document will be helpful for most if not all kinds of interviews.

The presentation with David Longworth was recorded for research, and to showcase the whole presentation in place of the mock interviews.

This is my BBC pitch PowerPoint, which is just ever so slightly updated with images. This was not the one used in the recorded pitch, as the updates had not carried over, but none of the wording was changed, only images were added.

This brief gave me the opportunity to gain experience in interviews, but it also gave me the chance to pitch my idea to the Apprenticeships Manager at BBC, which is an opportunity that does not come often and is such an experience to be a part of, as not many people can say they were able to talk about an original idea with someone from the BBC and gain feedback on the idea so that you can tweak bits and pieces to make it even better. It was a great experience and opportunity to be able to talk to David Longworth and it is something I will remember for a while to come.
